In my many New Year’s Eves spent in Knoxville, I’ve found that the same old hanging out at your friend’s house in ratty PJ’s watching the ball drop in New York on TV while eating snacks that you didn’t want to make isn’t a very exciting start to the new year. So, this year I’ve decided to compile my top five options for what to do for New Year’s Eve that will be worth talking about in 2019.
5. New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Oliver Royale
Got a bigger budget for this NYE? Head to the Oliver Royale for a four-course meal created by executive chef Jon Gatlin and a champagne toast. Tickets are $99 per person. Reservations are required, so call or email to reserve your spot today.
4. Downtown Grill and Brewery and Maple Hall
For those of us with a slightly smaller budget and that are 21+, check out Downtown Grill and Brewery for New Year’s Eve dinner and drinks. They have a wide array of food options and tasty house-made brews like the Downtown Blonde Ale. After dinner, head over to Maple Hall for bowling and more booze to celebrate the end of 2018.
3. New Years in the Old City
If dinner and bowling isn’t quite your speed but you do want to celebrate 2019 with alcohol, check out the Owl City Pub Crawl. What’s better than a shuttle to take you bar hopping and back to your hotel after a long night of celebrating?
2. New Year’s Eve Party at The Phoenix Pharmacy and Fountain
Don’t miss out on this new New Year’s event. The Phoenix Pharmacy and Fountain will host a 1930s New Year’s Eve party featuring a special menu, including my new favorite sundae the Sparkler–Yes, people there is a real sparkler in this sundae–and many other creations. If you’re interested, tickets are $40 and you can find more info on the Phoenix Pharmacy and Fountain page thephoenixpharmacyknoxville.com.
1. New Year’s on the Square
New Year’s on the Square is a family-friendly event that happens in Market Square. It’s Knoxville’s very own ball drop the ring in the new year. Obviously, this classic celebration tops the list. The best part? You can attend all of the previously mentioned events before heading over to New Year’s on the Square.
Thanks for reading my suggestions and for making it to the end of this post. I hope you plan on attending one of the events that I mentioned. If you do, use #phoenixpharmacyblog for the chance to win free ice cream to start your new year!
